Enormous, top floor oceanfront suite with an oversized balcony and panoramic Caribbean view. The resort is set on a pristine, white sand beach on the east end of Grand Cayman– the quiet, exclusive side of the island, where you will find Cayman's most secluded beaches, as well as some of the best diving and snorkeling in the world. The resort includes a spectacular infinity pool, 2 additional pools, fantastic restaurants, and tons of additional amenities.
The space
This penthouse suite boasts uninterrupted, panoramic ocean views from its oversized balcony, directly overlooking the beach. The balcony includes a large dining table, where one could eat every meal overlooking the ocean.
The suite includes 2 bedrooms, 2 full bathrooms, a full kitchen, a living room, a dining area indoors, as well as on the balcony.
The suite sleeps 6 guests:
- Bedroom 1- Oceanfront, with a king-size bed
- Bedroom 2- two twin beds OR 1 queen sized bed (can request either)
- Living room sofa has a pull-out bed
The suite has been recently renovated with updated furnishings and finishes in 2023.
* Please know that there is a $10/day Caymanian occupancy tax for all visitors to the island and electricity usage charges from the resort, which is standard in the Caribbean. For more details, see below!
The focal point of Morritt’s Grand is the giant oceanfront infinity pool, complete with swim-up bar, deluxe Jacuzzi, and a kids' pool. The two buildings of the Grand flank the infinity pool, and its white sand beaches feature plenty of hammocks, chaises and palapas for your lounging enjoyment. The resort features two additional pools, one with another swim-up bar, a jacuzzi, a kids’ pool. The third, adults-only/“quiet” pool is a great place to relax and unwind with a good book.
The resort is quite family-friendly, with a robust activities schedule for both kids and adults throughout the day, should you want to participate. At the same time, there are plenty of opportunities to relax, away from the crowds.

No car is needed– the resort has several dining options, and a shopping plaza with grocery store is within walking distance. Several additional, good restaurants are within a 10 minute drive, and some offer a free shuttle to and from the resort.
Or rent a car for a day or two when needed, just across the street, to visit nearby Rum Point, Starfish Point, the night-time bio-luminescence tour or a tour of Stingray city. Scuba and snorkel trip boats will pick you up just steps from your unit, on the resort’s pier, or one of their vans will pick you up, to depart from another dock.
Dining options include:
- David’s: fine dining on the oceanside terrace and indoors. The site of the weekly Welcome Party, which features a huge buffet and entertainment.
- Mimi’s Dock Bar & Restaurant: The only bar of its kind in the Cayman Islands– surrounded on all sides by the Caribbean
- The Cavern: a sports bar that serves food
- Swim-up bars: lunch and snacks can be ordered poolside, from either of the pools with swim-up bars
- Georgie’s Cafe: serving coffee, espresso drinks, sandwiches, baked goods and gelato

*** Please note that these photos are of the unit I got last year. The unit you get may have a flipped floor plan, but it will have very similar, if not exactly the same furnishings. It will be on the top floor.
The request for the second bedroom configuration– of either two twin beds or one queen sized bed (as shown)– can be made as soon as you reserve the week with me, and reiterated during the check-in process, on site, to make sure you get what you want.

The Caymanian occupancy tax is $10 US per day, accrued by the resort during your stay, and due at check-out.
Electricity usage charge: as is common at Caribbean resorts, Morritt's charges you for the electricity (mostly from A/C) you use during your stay, to encourage people to be mindful of their consumption. This charge is calculated and due at check-out. Electricity is charged based on usage and typically ranges from $150-250 US per week.
A security deposit of $500 US is due at check-in, and can be put on a credit card.
There is a key fee of $25 US if any key is not returned at check-out.
