Located near the southern end of Seven Mile Beach, Tamarind Bay overlooks one of the finest beaches in the world and the crystal clear waters of the Caribbean.
Our condo (Unit 5) is beach-front ground-floor. This is ideal not only for adults looking to relax with the best ocean views around, but also for families with the kid-friendly swimming pool and sandy beach literally steps away. The bedrooms are spacious and bright, with stunning ocean views from both the master bedroom and the second bedroom. The large 3rd bedroom comfortably sleeps 4 in new queen beds. High-speed WiFi internet access allows you to stay connected with home as you relax in paradise.
Tamarind Bay is ideally located, just minutes from the airport and the center of George Town. Nearby restaurants and stores are within walking distance, as is the SMB office for Andy's Rent-A-Car if you want to head off and explore the island. World-class snorkeling is available right outside the door. For even more convenience, all water sports activities - such as jet-skis, parasailing, water-skiing, etc - are available next door at the Marriott. When it's time to unwind, you can relax on a lounge chair on the beach or escape from the sun under a beach umbrella. If it gets too hot, cool off in the sea or in our freshwater pool. We have beach-front barbeque facilities and you can cook outside as you watch a magnificent Cayman sunset.
Our property manager is on-site and will greet you upon your arrival and be available for you during your stay. We're sure this will be the best vacation experience you'll ever have.
NOTICE REGARDING CURRENT BREACH SITUATION:
A tropical disturbance formed adjacent to Grand Cayman in June 2022. This produced extremely strong tidal action that eroded the beach along most of the southern end of Seven Mile Beach, including by our condo. At the time, all sand was eroded from the beach in front of our condo and the water was coming right up to our seawall, with underwater rocks exposed form the lack of sand. This beach situation occurs every few years and is usually returned to normal by the action of norwester' storms in the winter months; or, occasionally, by tropical storm action in certain directions during the late summer/fall. Since this happened, there has been minimal norwester' storm activity, resulting in only a partial recovery of the beach to date and it's not yet in its full usable condition. Again, this situation is affecting the entire southern end of Seven Mile Beach.
We're at the mercy of Mother Nature as to when the beach returns fully, but we are hopeful that this will happen sometime soon. In light of the beach situation, all published rates have been reduced by 20% in the interim, and these reduced rates are the ones shown on our VRBO listing here. Please note that once a reservation has been confirmed these reduced rates will still be honored even if the beach returns to normal prior to your arrival date.
Just a few minutes' walk from our condo you will find public beach access paths that will bring you to sandy sections of beach where you can swim. All beaches are public in terms of walking or swimming, however, you should note that all facilities at all properties are private to that particular property. Bars and restaurants at these properties, however, do welcome anyone.
Additionally, there is a very large public beach which is located about a 5 minute drive to the north of us, and there are bathroom facilities here, as well as shaded cabanas with benches for seating. Loungers can also be rented here, should you desire this. We also have some foldable beach chairs at our condo that you can take with you for these visits.
You should note that Tamarind Bay does have a very inviting pool area for your use, with loungers, umbrellas, and 2 shaded cabanas, and also BBQ facilities so you will have this area for your enjoyment and sunning.
